Lee’s #1 Exercise for Mountain Walking
Patrick Steps form an important part of my daily routine. I use them as a rest and recovery exercise, as well as warming up for a hike when I feel it’s necessary (if I’m feeling a bit stiff or over walked!). They form part of my regular MMM session (Mountain Movement Maintenance Session). Click here for full details.
Patrick Steps will help you with your mountain walking, both up and down hills. They will specifically help you:
- To walk downhill with more speed and control = safely!
- Develop flexibility in the achilles or calves for walking up angled slopes
Click here for further information on Patrick Steps and MMM.
Trekking Poles and How to Use Them
I strongly recommend using trekking poles. Videos on how to use trekking poles don’t get any better than this classic one by my friend Chase here: How to Use Trekking Poles, Chase Mountains, YouTube
